The Journal refers to a recollection of thoughts and events written by the original narrator during the Great War. Prior to the last mission near the Great Devoid, the author buried the manuscript in hopes that it would survive the aftermath. Through the ravages of time, the journal found its way in the hands of the Kildaer family, who kept it within the confines of their keep.
The journal was rediscovered by Cruniac after the execution of Baron Kildaer. After receiving a fatal wound from Soulblighter, the dying commander handed the journal to warrior captain Garrick, who lead the rest of the Legion across Gonen's Bridge to escape. Garrick would later give it to the second narrator.
