Seven Gates is one of the three passes across the Cloudspine, named for its seven chokepoints, and overshadowed by the ancient volcano Tharsis. From 2465 through 2468 AE, the forest giants aided the Legion in fending off the fury of Balor's forces. When the giants choose not to return in 2468 AE, the defenders lost the pass, allowing the Dark to enter through and into the West.
In December 7, 2480 AE of the Great War, the Legion had to fight their way through a civil war between The Watcher and the Deceiver to kill the shade Scaripant, and exit the mountains towards Forest Heart. This marked the end of the seventeenth year of war for the Narrator.
