The Dark is the opposing army from the east who wage war against the Light. Under the command of the Leveler, the Fallen Lords, and other dark sorcerers, the Dark is mostly comprised of the undead, with other races (such as ghols, mauls, and trow) make up for rest of the ranks. It is their mission to destroy all humanity and bring eternal darkness upon the world of Myth.

Notable Individuals[]

  • Cartucke: The Demon Lord of the Void. He was later killed by a band of heroes when ne'Ric delivered the final blow.
  • Fang-Grinder: The King of the Ghols who served in the Great War. He was well known for devastating Mauriac's entire army in the warrior's biggest defeat. The ghol brute was later killed in another battle with Mauriac, who to reclaimed his honor.
  • Kyrilla: A sorceress who served under Cartucke. She turned on her master after realizing she was tricked, and fought against him. She was turned to stone during the final battle.
  • Baron Kildaer: The Baron of Brayle who sided with the Dark to save himself, killed by the Legion for his crimes.
  • The Mayor of Otter Ferry: A foolish mayor who betrayed the Legion to save himself, executed for his treachery.
  • The Summoner: A man who served in the Second War under Soulblighter to bring back the Myrkridia. He was later killed by the Deceiver and the Legion.
  • Thalor the Black: A Myrkridian Pack-Master who served under Moagim during the Wind Age. He was later killed by Connacht and the Legion.

The Leveler[]

  • Balor: The last known entity of the Leveler who sparked the Great War. He was eventually beheaded by Alric and the Legion.
  • Mjarin: The Leveler who resurrected Moagim to serve as his secret pawn. He was eventually beheaded by Connacht.
  • Moagim the Faceless Terror: The Leveler who ushered in the Wind Age as he was executed by the Avatara of Illuan. He was later resurrected by Mjarin as Moagim Reborn, and was eventually killed for good by Connacht.
  • Soroganth the Flayed: One of the first incarnations of the Leveler during the Age of Darkness. He was killed by Tireces.

The Fallen Lords[]

  • The Deceiver: The man formally known as Myrdred who was defeated at Angurvadal Glacier near the end of the Great War, with dark sorcery keeping his frozen body alive. He joined the Legion after he was revived, and his fate was left unknown after he had defeated Shiver.
  • The Watcher: The man formally known as Bahl'lal was the longest living necromancer in the world. Throughout the years, he endured many conflicts with the avatara, the Cath Bruig, and the Light from the west, all while serving various masters. He was eventually killed by a legion of berserks after he was turned to stone.
  • Shiver: The woman formally known as Ravanna who was first killed in a dream dual by Rabican during the Great War. She was resurrected by Soulblighter during the Second War, but was later killed for good by the Deceiver.
  • Soulblighter: The man formally known as Damas who survived the Great War after failing to save Balor. He returned sixty years later to finish what his master tried to accomplish.

Shades[]

  • Cormorant: Served under The Watcher during the Great War, killed by the Legion while protecting The Watcher.
  • Herod: A turned Shade who served under Soulblighter during the Second War, killed while defending the occupied city of Muirthemne.
  • Mazzarin: A great Archmage, who founded the Avatara, ambushed and killed by The Watcher during the Wind Age, returned as a Shade, but refused to take sides of Dark or Light, saying that he was no longer a slave of the cycle. Aided Connacht in his struggle against The Watcher and Moagim, granting him the knowledge of the Total Codex. Teleported to the battlefield when The Watcher was turned into stone, was possibly killed while protecting (?) The Watcher.
  • Phelot: A turned Shade who served under Soulblighter during the Second War, secretly acted as The Deceiver's mole. During the Great War purged the Avon's Grove with its entire population either turned into thrall or fed it to ghol.
  • Scaripant: Served under The Deceiver during the Great War, killed by the Legion in Seven Gates.
  • Sciron: Served during the Great War.
  • Sinis: A turned Shade who served under The Deceiver in the Great War, killed by Alric. Alric previously considered him dead due to the fact that Mazzarin collapsed the Shrine of Nyx onto him.
  • Turquine: A turned Shade who served under Soulblighter during the Second War.
