Garrick, handing over the journal from the Great War.
The Journal refers to a recollection of thoughts and events written by the original narrator during the Great War. Prior to the last mission near the Great Devoid, the author buried the manuscript in hopes that it would survive the aftermath. Through the ravages of time, the journal found its way in the hands of the Kildaer family, who kept it within the confines of their keep.
The journal was rediscovered by Cruniac after the execution of Baron Kildaer and before they torched the Keep, preventing it from falling into the hands of the Dark. After receiving a fatal wound from Soulblighter, the dying commander handed the journal to warrior captain Garrick, who lead the rest of the Legion across Gonen's Bridge to escape. Garrick would later give it to the second narrator.
The Journal would provide insights as to the Fallen Lords and indirect predictions of the future. The most notable being the author having read the Total Codex and learned of a man who would resurrect the Mykridia (which indeed happened). That man turned out to be The Summoner.
